Itel A100 India Launch Confirmed: Military-Grade Build, 90Hz Display Under ₹8,000

Itel has officially teased the arrival of its new budget phone, the Itel A100, for the Indian market. Shared on X on Friday, the teasers reveal the phone’s design, colour options and a handful of key features. The company positions the A100 as the successor to last year’s Itel A90 and says it will sit in the sub-₹8,000 price band.

Design and colours

The A100 will be offered in three finishes: Pure Black, Silk Green and Titanium Gold. The teasers show a phone with a flat frame and square edges, giving it a cleaner, more premium look than typical entry-level devices. The rear panel appears to have a matte finish.

The camera module uses a squircle — or “square-circle” — shape that resembles the modules on phones such as the OnePlus 13s and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The camera island houses two circular camera cutouts and an LED flash. There’s also a small Itel logo centred on the back.

Core specs and features

According to the brand’s microsite, durability is a focus for the A100: Itel claims the phone has military-grade durability, a notable selling point in this price bracket. Power comes from a 5,000mAh battery designed for long usage.

The A100 sports a 6.6-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a Dynamic Bar feature — a meaningful upgrade for a budget device. It runs on the Unisoc T7100 chipset and is equipped with a 13-megapixel main rear camera.

UltraLink, IR blaster and more

One of the standout features Itel is promoting is UltraLink support. With UltraLink, users can reportedly make voice calls to selected devices even in areas without network coverage. The phone also includes an IR blaster, letting users control home electronics directly from the handset. Itel claims the A100 will be the toughest smartphone in the under-₹8,000 segment.

India Launch timing and price expectations

Itel has not announced an exact launch date for India yet, but the company is expected to share further updates soon. Observers suggest the A100 could challenge budget models from brands such as Redmi, realme and Lava. Early speculation places the A100’s price close to the Itel A90’s ₹6,499 asking price, making it an attractive option for budget buyers if that holds true.

Where the Itel A100 Fits in the Indian Budget Market

With a confirmed sub-₹8,000 positioning, the Itel A100 is clearly aimed at entry-level smartphone buyers in India who prioritise durability and battery life over high-end specs. As the successor to the Itel A90, the phone is expected to continue targeting first-time smartphone users, students and users upgrading from feature phones. The focus on build strength and long battery life aligns closely with everyday Indian usage patterns.
