OPPO Reno15 Series Review: Big Cameras, Premium Design and a Smooth Experience

OPPO has expanded its Reno legacy with the new Reno15 Series 5G in India. The lineup includes three models — Reno15, Reno15 Pro and the new compact Reno15 Pro Mini — all running ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. We recently spent hands-on time with all three and are sharing our review experience below.

Beautiful yet durable design

The Reno15 phones feel premium the moment you pick them up. Ergonomics are well thought out: weight distribution is balanced and the phones don’t slip from your grip even when held lightly. OPPO has introduced a compact model in India for the first time with the Reno15 Pro Mini.

Reno15 and Reno15 Pro Mini feature OPPO’s industry-first HoloFusion technology and a one-piece sculpted glass design (available on the Glacier White variant), which creates a 3D layered visual effect on the back when light hits it.

The series uses an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, and all three models include Sponge Bionic Cushioning to reduce shock from drops. For screen protection, Reno15 and Reno15 Pro Mini have Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while Reno15 Pro gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The phones are also rated IP66, IP68 and IP69 for water and dust protection.

The series also gets a Dynamic Stellar Ring camera module that emits a soft glow in the light, ultra-thin bezels and adaptive AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Display sizes and bezel dimensions vary across the three models.

Camera performance and image quality

Reno15 is equipped with a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP 3.5x telephoto, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 50 MP front camera. Reno15 Pro and Reno15 Pro Mini step up to a 200 MP main sensor with OIS, a 50 MP ultra-wide, a 50 MP telephoto with 3.5x optical range, and a 50 MP ultra-wide selfie camera.

OPPO has introduced Pure Tone Technology for Indian users in this series, built on its Vivid and Clear imaging framework. The result is more accurate, natural and balanced skin tones and scene colors.

The 200 MP main sensor on the Pro models produces ultra-clear images with high-definition coverage across the entire focal range, capturing fine textures crisply. The 50 MP telephoto portrait lens is versatile, offering 1x to 3.5x zoom that compresses distance between subject and background to create ultra-clear portraits.

The 50 MP ultra-wide selfie camera impressed us as well — it’s a flagship-grade sensor with a 100° field of view that removes the need for a selfie stick for group shots. All cameras across the Reno15 Series support 4K 60fps HDR video recording, enabling smooth switching between lenses while maintaining sharp, natural colors.

Video and Editing Features

The Dual-View video feature lets front and rear cameras record simultaneously, which made content creation easy during our hands-on time.

On-device editing tools are extensive: existing options like AI Eraser and AI Reflection Remover are present, and a new AI Portrait Glow can transform underexposed, overexposed or backlit shots into professional-style portraits with one tap. A built-in Video Editing tool inside the Photos app lets you edit videos quickly without relying on third-party apps.

Popout and Dual-View boost creativity

The Popout feature is a fun, creative addition. From the default Photos app you can select 2 to 9 images and tap “Collage,” then tap the image you want to pop out to create an interactive collage. Popout works with both still and motion photos; we used it to create visually engaging cross-time stories by combining different images.

Lag-killer performance and fast charging combo

Reno15 Pro and Reno15 Pro Mini are powered by a MediaTek chipset, the Dimensity 8450, which OPPO markets as the world’s first all-big-core design in its category. MediaTek Reno15 5G uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform fabricated on a 4nm process.

Compared with the previous generation, the CPU claims a 27% performance uplift, GPU up to 30% boost, and NPU up to 65% improvement. For smoothness, the series benefits from AI HyperBoost 2.0 that keeps performance stable even at up to 120 fps, and AI LinkBoost 3.0 improves connectivity in challenging networks and crowded Wi-Fi environments.

Reno15 and Reno15 Pro pack a 6500 mAh battery, while the Reno15 Pro Mini has a 6200 mAh cell. All three models include an 80W SUPERVOOCTM fast charger. Reno15 Pro additionally supports 50W AIRVOOCTM wireless charging. In our testing, Reno15 Pro delivered up to 5 hours of WhatsApp, 4.3 hours of YouTube and 4.5 hours of Instagram use from just a 10-minute charge.

Smooth UI and strengthened security

ColorOS 16 on the Reno15 Series brings a new Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine for improved smoothness, plus an AI Mind Space feature that makes accessing functions as simple as a three-finger tap. OPPO has integrated this feature with Google Gemini to enhance convenience. Google

The phones also include an industry-first dual-authentication locking mode: if the device is lost, customer support can remotely lock it, and the phone will automatically lock if the SIM card is removed. Unlocking requires both a password and biometric verification, which protects the device even if a password is compromised.

During testing, we used O+ Connect to transfer photos, videos and files easily between OPPO phones and iOS/iPadOS devices, mirrored the phone screen on macOS and Windows, and even remotely controlled a PC from the Reno15 Series. The cross-platform connectivity left a strong impression.

Why buy the Reno15 Series?

The Reno series has always prioritized camera capabilities and the Reno15 Series keeps that focus. OPPO has introduced a 200 MP camera for the first time in this lineup, and several AI features make photography and videography simpler and more creative.

Beyond imaging, the company improved design, security and processing power, making the phones a premium all-round package. The Reno15 Series starts at ₹45,999, which positions the lineup as good value for the features on offer.

Overall, the Reno15 Series is ideal for users who want a camera-centric phone without compromising on gaming performance, premium design, smooth UI and robust security. Whether you’re a content creator, a gamer or a user who values a smooth daily experience, the Reno15 Series aims to deliver a complete package.
