iPhone 18 Pro Leak Reveals Satellite 5G, Bigger Battery and Powerful Camera Upgrades

A new leak about the iPhone 18 Pro has surfaced, revealing that Apple’s upcoming flagship could feature the next-generation C2 modem. According to the report, the device is expected to support satellite-based 5G connectivity. Apple is reportedly planning to use NR-NTN (New Radio Non-Terrestrial Network) technology for this feature. This technology could allow the iPhone to connect directly to low-orbit satellites.

Satellite 5G Connectivity Could Work Without Mobile Network Coverage

According to information shared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro may allow users to access 5G internet and calling even without regular mobile network coverage. The NR-NTN technology integrated into the C2 baseband is expected to provide satellite connectivity in remote areas with weak or no signal.

Reports have previously suggested that Apple is working on “Satellite over 5G” capability. This technology could reduce dependence on ground-based network coverage for 5G connectivity.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had also claimed that Apple is developing satellite-based 5G coverage. Apple first introduced satellite connectivity with the iPhone 14, but that feature was limited in functionality.

Major Upgrade Over iPhone 14 Satellite Features

With the iPhone 14, Apple offered features such as Emergency SOS, Find My device support, messaging, and roadside assistance through satellite connectivity. However, this feature was not available in all countries. The new C2 modem is expected to be more advanced than the older C1 and C1X chips and could deliver better coverage even in congested network conditions.

The modem may also include a more precise location feature, which could improve location accuracy. Meanwhile, Chinese company Huawei has also mentioned that its NR-NTN solution is being prepared for public testing. It was initially expected to be available last year but may now be tested this year.

Apart from the Pro models in the iPhone 18 series, the standard iPhone 18 may also include the C2 modem. With satellite connectivity support, users could access 5G services even in areas without traditional network coverage.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Design, Camera, and Specifications

In terms of design, major changes are considered unlikely since Apple updated the design recently. According to leaks, the device may feature a thinner chassis and new color options such as Burgundy, Coffee, and Purple.

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 48MP primary camera, a 48MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the device may include a 24MP front camera.

The periscope zoom lens could improve long-distance shots and portrait photography. Some leaks also suggest Apple may introduce mechanical iris technology, which could provide better light control in low-light conditions.

Battery, Display, and Performance Details

The phone is rumored to come with a 5100mAh battery and support 40W fast charging. It may feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3000 nits.

The device could be powered by Apple’s A20 processor, based on 2nm technology. This chipset is expected to deliver strong performance and continue the legacy of Apple’s A-series processors. Gaming, multitasking, and Apple Intelligence features are likely to run more smoothly and efficiently.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Expected Price and Launch Timeline in India

Following rumors of changes in Apple’s launch cycle, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold are said to launch globally and in India between September 3 and September 9, 2026.

According to leaks, the variant with 256GB internal storage could be priced at ₹1,54,900 in India.

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could become one of the biggest flagship upgrades of 2026. The new triple camera system, powerful A20 chip, and improved battery may make it a strong option for premium buyers. All eyes are now on Apple’s official announcement.
