itel A100 Review: Stylish Budget Phone with Military-Grade Build and All-Day Battery

itel A100 Review

itel has introduced its new budget smartphone, the A100, in India. Despite its affordable positioning, the phone comes with a premium-looking design and some unusual features for this price segment. We used the device for a week to see what it offers.

The standout feature here is ‘Ultra Link’, which allows unlimited calling between other itel phones even without a SIM network. In addition, the company is offering a free screen replacement if the display gets damaged within 100 days of purchase.

Design and build: Slim profile with a premium matte finish

The phone is made from polycarbonate and carries MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, which means it is designed to handle everyday usage without issues. At just 8.49mm thick, the device feels slim in hand and gives off a premium impression.

The back panel has a stylish textured finish. The camera module and fingerprint sensor placement looks neat and uncluttered. The itel A100 is available in Silk Green, Pure Black, and Titanium Gold colour options.

On the right side, you get the power button and volume rockers, while the bottom houses the charging port and speaker grille. The phone also includes an IR blaster, allowing you to control appliances like TVs and air conditioners.

It features a triple card slot, which means you can use two SIM cards and a memory card at the same time.

Display: Large screen with 90Hz refresh rate and Dynamic Bar feature

The itel A100 comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ IPS display. Even though it is a budget device, it offers a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and general navigation smoother.

The screen uses a waterdrop notch design for the selfie camera. Bezels and the bottom chin are average for this price segment, but the large display makes video watching comfortable.

It also includes a ‘Dynamic Bar’ feature, similar to the Dynamic Island seen on Apple iPhones. This shows battery status and notifications at the top of the screen.

Camera: Basic setup with Full HD video support

For photography, the phone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Both cameras support Full HD video recording at 30fps.

Portrait mode is available on both the rear and selfie cameras. The photo quality is decent considering the price.

Performance and software: Built for everyday usage

This is a 4G smartphone powered by the Unisoc T7100 chipset. It is not meant for heavy gaming, but it handles daily tasks without difficulty.

The device runs on Android 15 (Go Edition), which is optimised for lighter apps and smoother performance on budget hardware. It also includes a stock dialer, allowing call recording without notifying the other person.

Battery: Reliable all-day backup

The itel A100 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which comfortably delivers a full day of usage. Using the bundled 10W charger, the phone takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to fully charge.

Final verdict: Strong value in the ₹7,000 segment

In terms of pricing, the phone comes in two variants. The 3GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at ₹6,800, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs ₹7,499.

If your budget is around ₹7,000 and you want a phone that looks stylish, feels durable, and offers features like Android 15 and silent call recording, the itel A100 stands out as a solid value-for-money option.
