Homegrown brand Lava is preparing to launch yet another affordable smartphone in India. Fresh details about the upcoming device have surfaced online, including leaked images that reveal its design. The phone is expected to come with noticeable changes to the camera module and a matte-finish back panel. Lava is likely to position this device in the budget price range.

The upcoming smartphone may be launched under the name Lava Yuva Star 3. As per the leaked poster, the phone could feature curved edges on the back along with a matte finish. A dual rear camera setup is expected, accompanied by an LED flash. The volume and power buttons appear to be placed on the right side of the device.

Apart from black, Lava may introduce the phone in additional colour options. As of now, no official details regarding the phone’s specifications or features have been revealed.

Launch Expected in the Coming Weeks

According to reports, the desi brand may launch this smartphone within the next few weeks. For context, Lava Yuva Star 2 was launched in May last year. It featured a pill-shaped, vertically aligned camera module on the back.

The Lava Yuva Star 2 came with a 13MP main rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It was launched at a price of ₹6,499 and was powered by the Unisoc 9863 chipset.

The device runs on Android 14 Go edition and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 19W wired fast charging support. It also offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the front, the phone features a 6.75-inch HD+ display. The upcoming Lava Yuva Star 3 is expected to bring upgrades over its predecessor, including a better camera and battery.

Lava Yuva Star 3 Price in India

The Lava Yuva Star 3 is expected to be priced under ₹10,000 in India. Compared to the previous model, it may be launched around the ₹7,000 price point.

A Look at Lava Yuva Star 2

For reference, Lava launched the Yuva Star 2 as an entry-level smartphone last year. The device features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 2.5D glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core UNISOC processor and runs on Android 14 Go Edition.

The phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. For photography, it offers a 13MP primary rear camera, a secondary AI camera, and an LED flash, while the front houses a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Lava Yuva Star 2 supports dual SIM connectivity and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and a bottom-firing speaker. The company also claims dust and water resistance. Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

The smartphone was launched at ₹6,499 and is available in Radiant Black and Sparkling Ivory colour options. Lava offers a one-year warranty along with free doorstep service, and the device is already on sale through retail outlets across India.
