Redmi will launch the new Redmi Note 15 5G and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro in India on 6 January at 11 (Indian Standard Time). The company says the event will be available to watch live. Ahead of the official reveal, Xiaomi has already shared many of the key features — here are the confirmed specs, claims, and the expected price.
Display
The Redmi Note 15 5G packs a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The company claims the screen can reach a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, which should make content readable even under strong sunlight. The panel also includes Hydro Touch 2.0 support and TÜV triple eye care certification.
Durability
For protection, Redmi has given the phone an IP66 rating, which guards against dust and splashes. This means the device can handle light water exposure and dusty environments, but it is not designed for full submersion.
Processor and software
Inside, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Redmi claims the device will deliver smooth performance for about 48 months without lag. The handset will run HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.
Battery and charging
The Note 15 5G houses a 5,520mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Redmi says a full charge will keep the phone running for roughly 1.6 days. The company also states the battery is designed to maintain good performance for about five years.
Camera
Visually, the rear panel features a square camera module. The main camera is a 108MP sensor that supports 4K video recording. There is no information yet about the selfie camera.
Price and color options
In India, the Redmi Note 15 5G is expected to cost around ₹20,000. For reference, the Redmi Note 14 5G launched in India at ₹18,999, with its top variant priced at ₹21,999. The new phone is likely to be offered in three color options: black, blue, and purple.
