Vivo Y31d Launched with Massive 7,200mAh Battery and IP69+ Rating — Full Specs and Price

Vivo has introduced the Y31d, a budget-focused smartphone built for durability and long battery life rather than 5G. The phone targets users who prefer a robust 4G device with a large battery and the latest software. Key highlights include a 7,200mAh battery, IP68 / IP69 / IP69+ water and dust resistance, a 6.75-inch display, and Android 16-based OriginOS 6.

Design and build

The Y31d measures 166.64 × 78.43 × 8.39 mm in the dark grey model and 8.49 mm in the white variant, and it weighs 219 g. The body is made from polymer and features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Its standout selling point in this price bracket is the triple IP rating — IP68, IP69 and IP69+ — for water and dust resistance, which sets it apart from many rivals.

Display

Vivo fitted the Y31d with a 6.75-inch HD+ display at 1570 × 720 pixels. The panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 1,250 nits in HBM mode. It offers a pixel density of 256 PPI and covers about 83% of the NTSC color gamut, aiming for good visibility in bright conditions and smooth on-screen motion.

Performance and software

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G chipset built on a 6 nm process. The octa-core CPU is arranged as four cores at 2.9 GHz and four cores at 1.9 GHz. RAM options include 6 GB and 8 GB of LPDDR4X, with support for virtual RAM expansion, and storage is 128 GB using UFS 2.2. The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.

Cameras

The Y31d has a dual rear camera setup: a 50 MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 2 MP secondary sensor. Camera modes include Night mode, Portrait, a 50 MP high-resolution mode, Slow motion, Pro mode, Document alignment and Underwater shooting. On the front is an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture that supports Night mode and Portrait.

Battery and charging

A large 7,200 mAh battery powers the phone and it supports 44 W fast charging. Vivo claims the battery will retain healthy performance for up to six years. According to the company, a full charge can deliver up to 68 hours of music playback or around 45 hours of video playback.

Connectivity and sensors

The Y31d accepts dual nano-SIMs and supports 4G LTE. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, a USB Type-C port and OTG. The sensor array consists of an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, e-compass and an infrared transmitter.

Price, availability and competition

The 6 GB + 128 GB variant is listed at 3,100,000 VND, which converts roughly to ₹10,500–₹11,000. Sales are set to start on January 8, and Vivo may announce prices for other variants later. The Y31d competes with 4G models such as the Redmi 13C, Samsung Galaxy A07 and Infinix Smart 10, but its IP69+ rating, 7,200 mAh battery and Android 16 support give it a strong edge in this segment.

Who should consider it

If your budget is around ₹11,000 and you prefer a tough, long-lasting 4G phone over 5G, the Vivo Y31d is worth considering. Its combination of high water/dust resistance, very large battery and current software make it a compelling option for buyers prioritizing durability and uptime.
