Xiaomi has officially confirmed the global launch date of its upcoming Xiaomi 17 series. The company announced that the new lineup will be unveiled on February 28 at 14:00 GMT+1 during an event in Barcelona. The series is expected to include two models — Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

Launch offers and assurance plan

Alongside the announcement, Xiaomi has also published a landing page teasing the new devices. According to the company, buyers will get a 24-month quality assurance plan with the Xiaomi 17 series.

The offer also includes one free screen replacement within the first six months. In addition, users will be able to get out-of-warranty repairs done without paying labour charges during the warranty period.

Expected price and colour options

As per previous leaks, the Xiaomi 17 may launch in Black, Green, Blue, and Pink colour options. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, on the other hand, could be available in Black, White, and Green shades.

In terms of pricing, the base Xiaomi 17 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is expected to cost EUR 999 (around ₹1.07 lakh), while the 12GB + 512GB variant could be priced at EUR 1,099 (approximately ₹1.18 lakh).

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra may start at EUR 1,499 (around ₹1.61 lakh) for the 16GB + 512GB model, while the 16GB + 1TB variant is expected to cost EUR 1,699 (about ₹1.83 lakh). However, the India pricing could be lower compared to global markets.

The Xiaomi 17 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3500 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection may also be included.

The phone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and will run Android 16 based on HyperOS 3. It may offer up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

For photography, the device could include a 50MP Sony Light Fusion 950 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens. On the front, a 50MP camera with support for 4K video recording is expected.

The Xiaomi 17 may pack a 6330mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

Connectivity options could include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and dual-SIM 5G support.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It may offer up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.

The device could feature a larger 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3500 nits peak brightness, and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 protection.

Camera is likely to be the biggest highlight of the Ultra model. It may include a Leica imaging system with a 50MP 1-inch main sensor with OIS, a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL periscope telephoto sensor with 3.2x to 4.3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide camera. The front may feature a 50MP autofocus camera with 4K video recording support.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to pack a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired HyperCharge, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

Additional features may include IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR blaster, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and two-way satellite communication support in select regions.
